Migration Observations

Postby Adrian Jones » Mon Feb 16, 2015 12:51 pm

Just been doing a DfW to FF migration and note a few issues.

First, date fields in interactive headers don't work (values entered into them are blanked) unless you open the proc, go to the interactive header, and open and save the date field objects.

This at least applies to 2-digit years.

Second, summary variables in procs ( field : sum ,etc). By default, these are added to all levels/containers via auto-layout, and often a developer will remove some of them.

The migration routine adds these back in again, together with a label.

I'm guessing that the changes in the date fields in version 1.6x are behind the data-entry field issues. The migration is probably not parsing them the same way it does with form fields. It may not touch them at all.
