SQL Server derivation source for a Multibox

Postby Martin Rodger » Tue Sep 02, 2008 12:31 pm

I zapped my previous post 10 minutes ago because I thought I had cracked it!

When I try to populate a multibox from a SQL Server table in a form which is based on another SQL Server table, I don't get shown the options that are given when populating from a Native table and am unable to do anything about it.

If I populate a multibox from a SQL Server table in form which is based on a native table, it works OK.

Is this correct or am I still doing something wrong?

The other possibility is that I have cut and pasted so many things in to the form that it has got its knickers in a twist. I will investigate this possibility, but if any one knows something to stop me wasting my time, I would be most grateful.

Cheers,
Martin Rodger

Just a thought, but have you defined a Ff form over the SQL table you want to use in the lookup?

Actually, extending your posting and refering back to an earlier one, I can't get ff123 to save a form over a SQL table. I can create the form and run it w/o saving, and see the data. I can create relationship to a reference table and use Ctrl-F10 to lookup data from there. And I can save an aspect over the table.

But no form. Does any one know what the status of this issue is?

You will need 1.24 to do it in one step, Adrian.

Thanks, Kjetil

Well, I've spend an hour trying to get the multibox to do what Martin wants, and can confirm the same lack of success!

Whatever I do, options remain greyed out.

Ctrl-F10 does work, though, as I mentioned before.
