Printer Setup Error Dataease 6.1 And Windows 7 x86

Postby Adam@Sumari » Wed Jan 13, 2016 12:10 pm

Hi guys,

we have recently reinstalled windows 7 on a clients machine, I set up dataease 6.1 and made the appropriate fixes to get it to run on windows 7(.local fix).

The client uses a HP printer and I have installed the same driver from one of there other machines, When the HP is set as default I get the printer setup error.

If I change the default printer to anything other then the HP printer(edoc PDF/Generic text only printer) data ease works and I can print that way....but unfortunately I still cant print to the HP.

Now this printer before the reinstall was set as the default and the client could print to it from dataease, I've spent nearly 2 days on this and I just cant seem to resolve it

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could be missing

Regards
Adam

Hi Adam, long time.

This might be a permissions (UAC) issue. Is DataEase being run as Administrator?

In the printer properties, what is the Port set to?

On the advanced tab of the printer properties, what are the options set to?

Hi Graham, thank you for taking the time to reply, i ended up installed a 64 bit version of windows onto the clients machine which cured the issue.

i have however got a 32bit test enviroment here that ive managed to recreate the issue so i will have a play around with what you have suggested.

Thank you
