Form properties

Postby JohnBaldwin » Sun Oct 14, 2012 8:05 pm

Fred, Graham, et al:

I suspect that I've simply forgotten how to do this, but I want to print (to a file rather than paper) the properties of ALL the fields that exist on 2 forms (I suspect that I have inadvertently got a recursive situation and I want to identify just where it is).

Please will you remind me (the years pass too quickly!) how to do this (I've got Jada Tools).

The version I have is 5.17

John...

Jada prints to a port.... LPT1...

Find a copy of prn2file.com...It redirects the port to a file...

Run prn2file text.txt
Run jada
Run report
Run prn2file to close the file

You can do a shift-F9 while editing a form, and it will send the info you want to the default printer... If you want a txt file, then run prn2file.com before going into DataEase, and what dataease sends to the LPT port will be re-directed to a file..

If you have Jerry's Increase, there's also a report that prints the form attributes, cleaner than the native DataEase report, because it numbers the fields in the field layout screen...which DataEase doesn't do...
