FFENICS 2

Postby tervyuk » Fri Sep 02, 2016 10:33 am

When will it be available to existing users?
What are the significant changes from FFenics 1.??
Is their a trial version available for potential customers?
At what cost to existing Ffenics users?

Regards

Bryan

For your information, the pricing FAQ
( http://www.ffenics.com/wp-content/uploa ... tomers.pdf )
is not available/responding at the moment.

The pricing FAQ, at least in its initial version, appeared to be unclear on one crucial point. So, I snipped a question raised on "The Ffenics club" which is still unanswered:

Code: Select all
Re Article 4: "I purchased Ffenics in 2014 or earlier /.../ ('and') acquired a perpetual licence to run that version"
Re Article 3: "I bought a Ffenics 1.63 licence in 2015 or 2016 /.../ ('and am') entitled to a free upgrade to Ffenics 2.0"

Does this imply that the right to carry on running 1.x depend on if it was bought before or after Jan 1st 2015?

Hi Kjetil,

No it does not imply that.
The points you are referencing refer to the amount of discount you get on your first year of annual subscription should you choose to purchase Ffenics 2.0, which is based on when an existing user first bought their initial Ffenics licence.
All existing users can continue their licence of Ffenics 1.x, but they will not receive the benefits and upgrades available in Ffenics 2.0. This is explained in our existing users' pricing FAQs :-)
I will investigate the issue with the FAQ document now, thank you for raising that.

Thank you for including a specification for that in your new FAQ ;-)

I doubt actually. Tried the old from work, the new ones from home just now. Nothing happened on my side for 30 seconds (which is how patient I am).

There's only been one item added at the bottom of the FAQs Kjetil to answer questions raised, nothing else has been changed :) I've messaged you to explore why it's not working for you.

OK, got it:
The links are here: http://www.ffenics.com/faqs/
http://www.ffenics.com/wp-content/uploa ... mers-1.pdf
http://www.ffenics.com/wp-content/uploa ... mers-1.pdf

whilst the links I followed (probably from http://www.ffenics.com/ffenics-2-0-has-been-released/ ) are dead:
http://www.ffenics.com/wp-content/uploa ... tomers.pdf
http://www.ffenics.com/wp-content/uploa ... tomers.pdf

To avoid confusion you should either update the links or overwrite the pdf's
