Windows 10 Creators update

Postby Gil Fleming » Thu Oct 26, 2017 10:48 pm

Just doing some work on a restore of our works database. Unzipped it, it all seems ok when I log in. If I quit and then re-log in, I get a message saying that ffenics cannot assign a unique id and that I'm in a duplicate session. Any ideas why this is happening? My home PC just had the Creators update so there may be some new paranoid security policy that leaves some files in the wrong state when I log out.

Perhaps Pete Tabord could cast a light on this? Pete, when I log out of a ffenics session, is there a file that should be updated or deleted to reflect my disappearance? Are there any particular file permissions I need to be aware of?

Could it be that Microsoft has "appropriated" the extension ".SSN"?

Looking through my various application folders, I note that files with the extension ".icc" are considered to be of type 'ICC Profile', which is associated with Microsoft Color Control Panel.

Another piece of jigsaw. The app is running on a mapped drive (w:) on my PC. If I reference the app via it's physical path (c:\ffcurrent), it works fine. Definitely something new about the way a mapped drive is set up. #-o
