WebElements Transformer and MS Home variants

Postby Pete Tabord » Wed Jan 23, 2008 11:36 am

The issue of limitations with 'home' variants of MS XP and Vista has been raised regarding networking, but the reduced functionality of these versions also affects WebElements.

You cannot use WebElements Transformer to create Web versions of Ffenics documents on XP Home, Vista Home Basic or Vista Home Premium. This is because they do not contain Windows IIS.

You can of course access documents published on another machine, and these _will_ get proper networking facilities (i.e. record locking etc) as the locking will be done on the application server.

You can download a copy of IIS and it will install and run under XP Home.

WebElements Transformer will now run under Vista Home Premium.

A ReadMe of how to install will be available shortly.
