Kiosk App

Postby Adrian Jones » Thu Apr 19, 2012 9:31 am

I've been approached by someone asking:

"I'm looking for a DataEase kiosk information software system, please let me know if you are aware of such a product."

And he's specifically interested in the healthcare industry.

Could - and should, of course -- be Ffenics.

Has anyone developed such a thing, and/or might be interested in me passing on your details.

you can reply directly to me via ajones@ffenics.com if you prefer.

Cheers!

Hmmm..I think we need more of a spec for the kiosk software.

To add to that I recall someone(Barry ??) down in Florida had a kiosk system he sold to schools that was DataEase based. Peterson?

From said person:

"Kiosk are software driven, often with a database as with ATMs or at airports where airline flight information can be retrieved. Often you'll find them in office buildings or hotels lobby's with information about the facility activities or about the happening in the surround area."

As far as I can see, he really means an app that has a UI geared to work with the specified hardware interface.

Anyway, just putting this out there in case anyone can help.

Kiosk programs are often for information retrieval. That being the case, I would expect that a simple menu that ran a series of procedures with data-entry screens would serve the purpose.

That said, there are probably a lot of vendors that specialize in this kind of thing that already have some kind of customizable programs.

We certainly don't have anything of the sort but it could probably be done. We've done stranger things.
