Text to speech

Does anyone know of a utility that can be called to read out the value in a field?

Thanks John

I also found one called voice.exe, also free, at :

https://www.elifulkerson.com/projects/commandline-text-to-speech.php

When you use the command line interface, they both produce the old DOS pop up window while they are working. Is there a way of stopping that?

Perhaps we should start a bootleg ff forum?

Gill

Best we can do is run (DOS) minimised

cmd /c START /MIN cmd /k

If you want the window to go away on its own, "cmd /c ..." will make that happen. "cmd /k ..." will leave the window open.

Its been a few years now (and memory fades) but I think we used to copy to clip, then the OnClipboardChange () event (which returns 0,1,2 empty, text, image) followed by sndPlaySoundA () (winmm.dll) - rather than any command lines - but I may be just mudding the waters here!!
